Why do we charge by the linear foot and not a board foot?<\/h4>\n

Each barn was built entirely different without standardized sizings and with a vast array of widths and lengths. No reason other than the majority of our calculations are based off of square footage so it just makes our life simpler. Do we sell 2\u201d live edge barn boards?<\/h4>\n

Yes and no. Our 2\u201d boards are cut from a sawmill out of an original hand hewn or rough sawn beam. As the hand hewn beams were cut by hand, some boards may have a \u201clive edge\u201d to them. However the beams are as close to square and plumb as could be expected 100 years ago considering they were cut by hand. Yes, some boards contain pockets. Beam skins are made out of century old barn beams which were joined by mortise and tenon connections on the old style barn builds of post and beam joining. Do we sell 2\u201d live edge barn boards?<\/h4>\n

Yes and no. Our beam skin boards are cut from a sawmill out of an original hand hewn or rough sawn beam. As the hand hewn beams were cut by hand, some boards may have a \u201clive edge\u201d to them. However the beams are as close to square and plumb as could be expected 100 years ago considering they were cut by hand. Do some boards contain pockets?<\/h4>\n

Yes, some boards contain pockets. Beam skins are made out of century old barn beams which were joined by mortise and tenon connections on the old style barn builds of post and beam joining.
